NISN Research Projects
NISN members, based primarily in the Nordic countries, have been meeting at regular intervals over the past number of years to take part in joint research projects. Members of the research group meet to exchange ideas and then decide on a joint research theme. Each member writes an individual contribution related to the general theme, and at the follow up work-in-progress sessions members meet and read each other’s work. A rotating editorial group is chosen from the members of the group, and a joint publication produced. Membership of the project group is open to any NISN member who feels inspired to participate.
The research network so far has resulted in two publications: Recovering Memory: Irish Representations of Past and Present (Newcastle: Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2007), and Exile: Realities and Metaphors in Irish History and Literature (Aarhus: University Press, 2005
